Vaughn Bolle Arndt, known to many simply as Vaughn, passed away on September 18, 2026, in Lagrange, Georgia, at the age of 97.
Born on December 30, 1928, in Ilion, New York, Vaughn lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her, and a loving spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She was a woman of grace, strength, and quiet determination, and she carried herself with the kind of warmth that made others feel welcome and cared for. Those who knew Vaughn will remember her as a loving presence whose kindness was evident in the way she lived each day.
Vaughn cherished nature and found joy in the simple wonders of the world. She loved the beach and the peace it brought, as well as the beauty of the outdoors in all its forms. These interests reflected her gentle heart and her ability to find comfort and happiness in the natural world. She also embraced her role as a model mother and wife, and she took great pride in the family she helped build and nurture throughout her life.
Family was at the center of Vaughn’s life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through generations. She is survived by her children, David Michael Arndt and his wife Katie, Steve Timothy Arndt and his wife Cindy, Jeffery Nicholas Arndt and his wife Theresa, Ronald Joesph Arndt and his wife Lynn, and Donna Lyon. She also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, including Matthew Arndt and his wife Colleen, Timothy Arndt, Christopher Arndt, Amy Loraine Parrish and her husband Mike, Stephen Timothy Arndt, Jr. and his wife Nikki, Jennifer Lynn Golden and her husband Sam, Melissa Cooke and her husband Vincent, Devonae’ Arndt LeRoy, Tiffany Samples and her husband Chris, Val Johnson, Wally Lyon and his wife Karen, Renee Arndt, Ashley Bulloch, Travis Bulloch and his wife Kara, and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.
Vaughn will be remembered for her loving nature, her devotion to those she held dear, and the steady example she set through a life lived with care and purpose. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Funeral services for Vaughn will be held on Monday, September 21st, 2026, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at the Plant City Methodist Church in Lanett, Alabama. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Brother Troy Higdon will officiate. Vaughn’s family will receive friends for visitation Monday morning from 10:00 AM (EDT) until the service hour at the Plant City Methodist Church in Lanett, Alabama.
