Rubicel Nava Lorenzo, lovingly known as Ruby, passed away on August 4, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 3. Born on June 10, 2023, in Birmingham, Alabama, he brought joy, tenderness, and light to the lives of those who knew him, and his memory will remain forever cherished by his family and all who loved him.
Ruby was a beloved son whose presence filled his home with warmth and happiness. He was the cherished child of his father, Rigoberto Nava Mejia, and his mother, Rosa Lorenzo Anorve, who will carry his memory in their hearts always. Though his time on earth was brief, he left behind a lasting imprint through the sweetness of his spirit and the comfort he brought to those around him.
He was a little boy whose daily routines and simple joys reflected the innocence and wonder of early childhood. He loved watching his favorite television show in the morning, a small tradition that brought him comfort and delight. He especially enjoyed eating rice and drinking his favorite juice, and mealtime was often made brighter by the foods he loved. His favorite food was quesadilla, which he enjoyed with the enthusiasm and happiness that so often marked his days. At bedtime, he found comfort in sleeping with his pacifier, a familiar companion that helped him rest peacefully through the night.
Those who knew Ruby will remember his gentle presence and the happiness he brought into everyday moments. He was deeply loved, and his life, though short, was filled with the care and devotion of his family. In the hearts of his parents, he will always remain a treasured son, forever young and forever loved.
Rubicel Nava Lorenzo will be remembered with love, tenderness, and gratitude for the time he shared with his family. His memory will continue to live on in the stories told about him, in the routines he enjoyed, and in the enduring love of those who held him close. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always with affection and sorrow.
A Mass for Ruby will be held on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM (EDT) at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lanett, Alabama. The Father Gali Balaswamy will officiate. Interment will follow at Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley, Alabama.
