Opelika Man Charged with Rape, Sodomy

OPELIKA, Ala. – The Opelika Police Department has arrested a 36-year-old man on rape and sodomy charges. Navion Raye Cooper from Opelika, AL, was arrested on April 9, 2026, for First-Degree Rape and 3 counts of First-Degree Sodomy. An investigation began on March 25, 2026, after the victim reported that the abuse had been occurring over several years. Cooper was booked into the Lee County Jail.
