Larry Duane Taylor, 60, passed away on Sunday June 14, 2026 at his home in Franklin, Georgia. He was born October 1, 1965 in Tallassee, Alabama. He grew up in Eufaula and Jemison, Alabama and went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University, graduating in 1989. He worked for Georgia Power Company from 2010 until his death.
Larry loved the outdoors. His favorite activities were fishing and hunting for rocks with his wife and son. He also enjoyed buying gag gifts, restoring vehicles, photography, and making people laugh,.
He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Suzanne Kirby Taylor, his son Charlie Leon Taylor and their cats. He also leaves his father William L. Taylor (Gloria), his mother, Melva Ransom Taylor, his sisters, Mesherri Taylor McGill and Marie Taylor Pardue, his niece, Megan Boatner (Mark), and his great nieces, Calie and Lily Boatner. He was predeceased by good friend and brother-in-law Matthew Pardue. His memorial service is to be held on June 27th at 1:00 pm CST (2:00 pm EST) at Frederick Dean Funeral home in Opelika, Al.
