Fatal House Fire Claims the Lives of Two Chambers County Residents

On Monday, June 27, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies from Chambers County were dispatched to a house fire at 4327 20th Street SW in the Huguley community.

Upon arrival, they found the house fully engulfed in flames, making it impossible for first responders to enter. Fire departments from Huguley, Lanett, and East Alabama also responded to combat the blaze.

Once the fire was extinguished, the bodies of a male and a female were discovered inside the home. The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Donald Ray Gough and 46-year-old Angela Jean Gough.

The investigation is being handled by the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office and the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.
