Dianne Catherine Holt Belton, of Beulah, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the age of 81. Dianne was born on June 29, 1945, in Andalusia, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Durwood and Catherine Holt; her beloved husband, Ken Belton; her granddaughter, Jovie Belton; and her brother, Ronald Holt.

Above all, Dianne was a wonderful caretaker. She had a giving heart and spent much of her life putting the needs of others before her own. lovingly cared for her father through dementia and was always willing to help those around her. Dianne never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone.

She was kind, funny, quick-witted, and had a way of making anyone laugh. She was deeply loved by her family and by the many people whose lives she touched.

Dianne grew up on Lake Harding, where her parents owned a store and where she worked as a young girl. In her younger years, she loved spending her days on the lake and water skiing. Later, she began her career at Beulah High School, first as a librarian and later as a long-distance learning teacher, where she remained until her retirement.

She was well known and loved at Beulah High School, making friends wherever she went. Family was always at the center of Dianne’s life. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she loved decorating for Christmas and having her family gathered around her.

Some of her happiest days were spent sitting outside in the sunshine, working word searches or playing solitaire (where she was sure to beat anyone who challenged her). She loved cats, country music, and dancing to everything from Journey and Garth Brooks to Randy Travis and ABBA.

She was often seen with a Coke, a Little Debbie, or a banana in hand. It was the simplest things that made her happiest. Dianne’s faith was very important to her. She attended Rocky Mount as a child and continued to grow in her faith throughout her life, carrying that belief with her in her own quiet and independent way.

Dianne was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and so much more. To know her was to know her compassion for others, her desire to help people, and her ability to find joy in the little things.

Dianne leaves behind her sons, Shane (Kyetra) Belton and Scott (Brooklyn) Belton; daughter, Jenna (Zane) Wilkerson; grandchildren, Izzy Belton, Evan Belton, Taft Belton,  Elam Belton, Kensleigh Smith, Riley Wilkerson, Landri Smith, and Ridge Smith; siblings, Steve (ReJene) Holt and Sandra (Randall) Willis; sister-in-law, Ann Holt; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.
