The family of Annie Christine Chase announces her passing on July 21, 2026, at the age of 92. Christine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many.
She was born on April 1, 1934 to parents, Grover Cleveland Parker and Annie Pearl Thompson Parker. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Louie D. Chase; her sister, Betty Jean Rice; brother-in-law, Jack Rice; and her parents.
Christine is survived by her children, Becky (Jerald) Burkett, Opelika, AL and Carol (Ken) Wilder, Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Jacob (Meg) Wilder, Cartersville, GA, and Christopher (Kelsey) Wilder, Helena, Al; great-grandchildren, Jackson Wilder, Lauren Wilder, and Harris Wilder; niece, Debra Jackson, Opelika, Al; nephew, Dennis Rice (Christy), Opelika, AL; great-niece and great-nephew, Brooke Jackson (Maria), LaGrange, GA, and Parker (Monica) Jackson, Calera, AL; and great-great niece, Adalyn Jackson. She loved her family and found joy in the time she spent with them.
She was a lifelong resident of Lee County, Alabama, the Beauregard Community, and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She graduated from Beauregard High School with the Class of 1952. One of her favorite hobbies was arranging floral bouquets that she readily shared with others on special occasions, during illness, or just to say thinking of you. Her acts of kindness were without fanfare and were most often accomplished when no one was around but the intended recipient.
Visitation will be Monday, July 27, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, service will follow at 11:00am with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery.
Christine’s family extends appreciation and gratitude to caregivers Gwen Scott, Carolyn Wilson, and Compassus Hospice — especially April Stapler, Becca Harris, Alia Samuels, Tracy Treese, Chaplain Q. Smith, Dr. John Abrams, and Dr. Kevin Jackson — for their dedicated care and loving support.
