Larrell “Buck” Coker passed away peacefully at East Alabama Medical Center on July 2nd, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

He was the beloved son of the late Billy Joe and Betty Coker, and the cherished grandson of the late Olin and Christine DeLoach and Wilford and Maybell Coker.

Larrell is lovingly remembered by his children: Tiffany Coker, Kristina Coker (Kevin) Pybus, and Joey (Katie) Coker. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Christopher Pybus, Stormy Coker, Abigail Coker, and Nicholas Coker. He also leaves behind his devoted sister, Betty Loraine Stough, and a host of close friends from Valley Senior Village, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

A member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cusseta, AL, Larrell found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—listening to gospel and country music, cheering for Alabama football, and enjoying card games and dominoes. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson Brown Funeral Home in Valley, AL, at 3:00 PM (EDT) on Sunday, July 6th, 2025. Pastor Doug Blackmon will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 1:00 PM (EDT) until the service hour.

While flowers are appreciated, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society or Cornerstone Baptist Church in Larrell’s memory.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at EAMC for their exceptional care and compassion; to Pastor Doug Blackman and his wife Tammy for their unwavering support; and to the many other friends and loved ones who helped bring comfort, peace, and love to Larrell’s final days.
