January 27, 1933 ~ May 10, 2025 (age 92)

Sara Ella Crenshaw Hill, passed away peacefully, at the age of 92, on May 10,2025, at her residence, in Valley, Alabama. Sarah was born on January 27, 1933, in Lanett, Alabama.

She was the fifth child of Tom and Verna Crenshaw. “Granny”, as she was known to her family, loved to read books, watch game shows, and look at Facebook. Her passion has always been crocheting. Each new baby received a special made afghan blanket made with love. She was also involved with the “Barbie Crocheting Club” for Barbie Dolls. She crocheted cradle caps for Bridget Cradles which provided caps to hospitals and to parents who lost babies during pregnancy.

She also crocheted baby blankets and toboggans which were donated to Save-A Life and the Circle of Care.

Granny loved family visits and looked forward to the annual Hill Christmas. She will greatly be missed by all of her family.

She is survived by her five children, Shirley Hill, of Valley, AL, Bobby Hill (Kim), of Valley, AL, Artis J. Hill (Kathy), of Cleveland, TN, Wayne Hill (Debbie), of Ardmore, OK, Tommy Hill (Lisa), of Houston, TX; sister, Carolyn Tomlinson, of Lanett, AL. Granny was also survived by, fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and twelve great great grandchildren. Granny is preceded in death by, her husband, Artis J. Hill, Sr.; parents, Tom and Verna Crenshaw; sister, Mary Ann Manley; and infant brother and sister; granddaughter, Whitney Bradley; great grandsons, Jaxon Kidd and Ryker O’Barr.

Graveside service will be held, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at Hillcrest Garden cemetery, in Lanett, AL, Pastors Kevin Pigg and Todd Owens, officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Fairfax Methodist Church, Save-A-Life or, The Circle-of-Care.
