October 25, 1938 ~ March 9, 2025 (age 86)

Juanita O’Neal Harris, affectionately known by everyone as Juanita, left this world on March 9, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of her family in Lanett, Alabama. Born on October 25, 1938, in Valley, Alabama, Juanita’s life was a testament to her loving, kind, and thoughtful nature, touching the lives of all who knew her.

Juanita dedicated many years of service to Playtex, Citizens Bank, and Charter Bank, where her strong work ethic and cheerful personality left a lasting impression on her colleagues and clients alike. She concluded her professional journey with a well-earned retirement, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and integrity.

Juanita’s commitment to her faith was evident through her long-standing membership at Lanier Baptist Church. For over three decades, she passionately taught Sunday school, sharing her unwavering faith and nurturing the spiritual growth of countless individuals.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, George M. “Joe” Harris, Juanita’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her adoring family: her son, Danny Ray Harris and his wife, Marshelia; her grandchildren, Robin Harris, Brian “Buster” Harris, Vickie Lynn Smith, and Leigh Ann Graben; her great grandchildren, Grace, Gabriel, Kelsi, and Dominic; her sister, Janice Bolton; and five nieces and nephews. Known for her endearing smile and her generous spirit, Juanita O’Neal Harris leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten.

 A memorial service for Juanita will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, 1:00 PM (EDT) at Johnson Chapel Baptist Church. Brother Steve Langley will officiate. Juanita’s family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 noon (EDT) until the service hour at the church.
