August 23, 1939 ~ November 26, 2024 (age 85)
Robert “Bunk” Lavell Landreth, 85, of the Huguley community, gently passed away from this life on November 26, 2024, in Phenix City, Alabama after an extended illness.
Bunk is survived by his wife of 29 years, Maurice Landreth, daughter Robin Ann Landreth, brother Terry Landreth (Liz), special cousin Cathy Landreth, stepson Marty Henry (Jennifer), stepdaughter Tracy Boothe (Johnnie), 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Bunk was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lula Maude Landreth.
Bunk loved his church family, fishing, flea markets and Auburn football. He could be found fishing at many waterholes in the area, but especially loved Chambers County Lake. If he wasn’t fishing, you would find him with his Huguley Baptist Church family or piddling around a flea market looking for treasures. During football season, he was glued to the TV on Saturdays to root for Auburn victories and Alabama’s demise.
Bunk’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many people who supported Maurice and Bunk with kindness, assistance, and care: The Chattahoochee Hospice team; Cathy Landreth for her unwavering commitment; Larry Clanton; Tully and Pam Kilgore; Mona and James Sorrells as well as the entire Huguley Baptist Church family. Family and friends will gather at Huguley Baptist Church on December 14, 2024 at 10 am ET followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am ET with the Reverend Milton Vaughn officiating.
