Yvonne Sparks Caldwell, lovingly known as Yvonne, passed away on April 30, 2026, in Valley, Alabama, at the age of 86.
Yvonne was born on April 28, 1940, in Langdale, Alabama, and she carried the values of her hometown with her throughout her life. She was a loving and kind woman whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her life was marked by devotion to her family, faith, and the simple joys that brought her happiness each day.
Yvonne spent more than 40 years working for West Point Stevens, where she was respected for her dedication, strong work ethic, and steady presence. She took pride in her work and in the relationships, she built over the years. Her long career reflected the dependable and caring nature that defined so much of her life.
Outside of work, Yvonne found joy in tending to her garden, where she nurtured beauty with patience and care. She loved her cats and enjoyed their companionship. She was a devout Christian whose faith was an important part of her life and gave her strength and comfort. She was also known for her ruby red lipstick, a signature touch that reflected her personality and grace.
Yvonne is survived by her son, Dennis Caldwell and his wife Janine, her daughter, Lisa Florence, her grandchildren, Eric Caldwell and Amy Etchison, and her great-grandchildren, Madeline Caldwell, Zander Caldwell, Xavier Caldwell, Bruce Etchison, Felicity Etchison, and Gwen Potts. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory and the love she shared with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Caldwell, her parents, L.D. Sparks and Frances Sparks, her sister, Betty Taylor, her brother, Joel Sparks, and her grandchild, Carly Florence. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she now rests in peace reunited with those who went before her.
Yvonne will be remembered for her loving heart, her kindness, and the quiet strength she carried with her every day. Her family and friends will forever treasure the warmth of her presence, the example of her faith, and the many ways she made life brighter for those around her.
Graveside services for Yvonne will be held on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at Fairfax Cemetery in Valley, Alabama. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. The Pastor Carl Benedict will officiate.
