November 15, 1934 ~ September 27, 2026 (age 91)

Virginia “Ginny” Wilcox Allen, age 91, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 15, 1934, Ginny lived a rich and full life centered around her family, her passion for education, and dedicated community service.

Ginny graduated from the University of Nebraska. She dedicated her career to education as a passionate elementary school teacher, touching countess young lives. Even into early retirement, her commitment to the teaching profession continued as she mentored area educators to help them achieve their National Board Certifications.

Throughout her life, Ginny lived in Nebraska, Kansas, Georgia, Texas, Florida, and Alabama, forming lifelong friendships everywhere she went. Active and engaged in civic life, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Martha Wayles Jefferson Chapter), Auburn Campus Club,  an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Auburn, and the National Finch Society.

A loving and steadfast partner, Ginny shared nearly 70 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Don Allen, building a home filled with warmth, generosity, and unwavering support. Above all else, she was a dedicated mother whose kindness, wisdom, and selfless care served as the foundation for her family across generations. Her strength, humor, and grace left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband, Don Allen.

She is survived by her three children and their families:

Scott Allen (Barbie), along with their children and grandchildren: Lauren (Anthony) and their children, Anthony, Anne Madeline, and Luke; Bailey (Justin) and their children, Blakely and Houston; Leighton (Kelsey) and their child, Olivia

Amy Brinkerhoff (John), along with their daughters and grandchild: Jessica (Matt) and their child, Kai; and Sarah

David Allen (Sarah), along with their children: Jackson, Peyton, and Rebecca

She is also survived by extended family and many cherished friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Visitation with close family and friends will begin at 1:30 PM, followed by the service at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Auburn, Alabama.
