Mrs. Tommie Lou Boyd Hadaway, age 84, of Valley, AL, passed away on September 30, 2026. She was born on March 1, 1942, in LaGrange, GA to the late Thomas Watson Boyd and Lottie Lou Crews Boyd.
Mrs. Hadaway was full of life and enjoyed being a social butterfly, and she was always on-the-go. She happily served her community as a school bus driver for the Chambers County Board of Education for 31 years until she retired in 2005 and again from 2009-2019. She always had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing many instruments and singing with her siblings and cousins over her lifetime. She started playing the piano when she was 10 years old at the Congregational Holiness Church of Lagrange, GA, and after marrying her husband Kenneth and moving to Valley, she joyfully continued giving of her wonderful talent at numerous churches, weddings, funerals, and events throughout the rest of her life. She deeply loved her family, playing the piano and singing, and regularly enjoyed spending time with her wonderful friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Kenneth Hadaway, her brothers, William Boyd, Crews Boyd, and Lamar Boyd, and her sisters, Huldah Jo Yarbrough, Lottie Mae Jiles, and Kathleen Boyd, and stepson Kenneth Baker. She is survived by her brother-in-law Tyre Jiles, Jr., and sisters-in-law Susan Boyd, Chris Boyd, and Glennis Boyd, and her loving children, Danny (Toni) Hadaway, Susan (Tony) Watts, and stepdaughter-in-law Rhonda Baker; grandchildren, Mandy Maldet, Hayli Watts, Scott Hadaway, Kassi (Josh) Freeman, Alison Roberts, Katelynn Kite, Stacie Baker, and Misty Clayton, as well as 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. EST. Pastor Ty Jiles will officiate.
