Mr. Terrance DeLee Hicks was born April 18, 1976 in Chambers County, AL to Grady Lee Hicks and Dorothy Evans Hicks. Terrance departed from earth to glory on Friday, July 17, 2026, at his residence in Lanett, AL. Forever leaving behind the beautiful memories of his amazing smile, the strength he always carried, his devotion to family and his humble spirit.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Berean Church of Lanett, AL under the leadership of Reverend Vernon Carter.
“Dick, Boot or Slick”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was a member of the 1995 graduating Class of Lanett High School. He was an avid University of Alabama football fan who loved cooking on the grill and spending time with family and friends.
Terrance was “big” on “I love you!” if he said it, he meant it, and would tell you often.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, DePosey and Annie Lou Hicks and J.B. Sr. and Flossie Evans; uncles, Willie Brooks and J.B. Evans, Jr. and a nephew, Delarick St. George.
Terrance leaves behind a legacy of love, cherishing his precious memories to his loving and devoted parents, Grady and Dorthy Hicks of Lanett, AL, two brothers, Derrick (Tanika) Evans of Lanett, AL, and Marcus (Lynn) Evans of Newnan, GA; four sisters, Alicia Hicks of Atlanta, GA, Sonya (Rev. Shandor) Calloway of Lanett, AL, Zanetta Hicks (Calvin Winston) of LaFayette, AL and Alezandria (Eric) Darden of Lanett, AL; twelve nieces; eleven nephews; three aunts, Barbara Evans and Brenda Sharpe, both of Valley, AL and Doris Darden of Lanett, AL; four uncles, Ulysee “Pete” (Cora) Hicks of Valley, AL, Terry Evans of Philadelphia, PA, Marvin “Tony” Hicks and Tyrone Evans, both of Lanett, AL; a special friend, Glander “Bo” Stanford of Lanett, AL, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, 1:00 PM EST at Evergreen Baptist Church, 301 Evergreen Avenue, Valley, AL 36854, Bishop Donald Lancaster, Officiating; Rev. Frankie Hutchinson, Sr., Eulogist.
Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Lanett, AL.
