Talking Trash; City of Valley Adresses Bulk and Yard Debris Protocol

During Monday’s Valley City Council meeting, Planning and Development Director Riley reminded residents to place bulk and yard debris at the curb during the designated pickup week — not two weeks in advance.

“I just want to remind everybody of trash pickup on bulk and yard debris items to put them out on the week of, as opposed to two weeks prior,” Riley said. “We’ve had a lot of issues with things being thrown all over the place and on the wrong week.”

Riley said a pickup calendar is available on the city’s website. Residents also may stop by the Planning and Development office at Valley City Hall to pick up a copy or request that one be emailed to them.

In other city news, Bobby Poer, fitness and aquatics manager, updated the council on the Fall Community Yard Sale.

The sale is scheduled for Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Community Center. The event can accommodate 35 households, and 29 spots had been reserved as of Monday.
