Opelika, AL – Southern Union State Community College Veterinary Technology Program is partnering with Auburn’s Spa Del Resort luxury pet facility for a pet spa day fundraiser on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm CST.

This event will support Veterinary Technology students and faculty traveling to the Dominican Republic in August for a veterinary mission trip. Proceeds will also benefit the program’s Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (SCNAVTA), helping provide educational and professional development opportunities for students.

This community-focused event will offer canine owners the exclusive opportunity to pamper their pet by SU Veterinary Technology students with services including dog nail trims, bathing, brushing, ear cleaning, anal sac expression, and basic grooming appointments. Canine guests can also enjoy complimentary gourmet pup cups, pet bows, bandanas, accessories, and raffle opportunities throughout the day.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for community members to support the next generation of veterinary professionals while treating their pets to a day of pampering,” said Program Director, Hayley Pritchard; “every service provided helps our students gain valuable experiences and participate in opportunities that expand their education beyond the classroom.”
