The family of Min Young Cha is deeply saddened to announce her passing on June 11, 2026 at the age of 44 in Auburn/Opelika, Alabama. She rested peacefully for eternal life and went to heaven with the Lord while praying and praising Jesus Christ.
Born on February 24, 1982 in Seoul, South Korea was the second child, born after older sister Min Kyoung Cha, of Yeonsu Cha and Insoon Gu. She graduated from Yonsei University in Korea with BS on 2005 and with MS on 2007 and earned a PhD in higher education from University of Minnesota on 2015.
She is survived by husband, David Seung Hyun Ro, and one lovely daughter, Joyce Jae-Eun Ro.
Min Young is faithful and truly devoted to Jesus Christ. As a member of Auburn All Christ Church and Allen community group, she was such a beautiful, thoughtful, and strong woman with wisdom, loving heart, and sincere belief in Jesus Christ. She always loved Jesus and wanted to be a comfort and prayer for her family and friends. She also actively involved in bible study group activity through Bible Study Fellowship for many years since living in Michigan to Nebraska to Alabama. She enjoyed reading holy bible, education- focused books, and other books of faith and devotions. She deeply loved to listen to Pastor. Timothy Keller’s sermon series as well.
A celebration of Min Young’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on June 20, 2026 at Alabama Funeral Home & Cremation Centers, located at 1801 Frederick Road, Opelika, Alabama. Her remains will be stayed at Town Creek Park Cemetery/Columbarium, located at 950 S. Gay St, Auburn, Alabama. All who knew and loved Min Young are invited to attend.
