Michael Gerald Bracey, affectionately known as Mike, passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 63. Mike was born on August 24, 1962, to parents Harold and Patsy Bracey, in Opelika, Alabama, Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
Mike dedicated over 25 years of his life to Funcarts of Opelika, where he was not only a faithful and loyal employee but also a cherished friends to countless colleagues. His passion for NASCAR, racing, and motorcycles was well-known, and he was an active member of the Lee County Charity Riders, where he shared his love for the open road with fellow enthusiasts.
On July 22, 2026, Mike went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He had surrendered his heart and life to Jesus and served Him faithfully. Though he lost his battle with cancer, he gained eternity with Christ, a comfort to all who knew him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Patsy Bracey. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela A. Bracey; his loving children, daughter Crystal Dunn (Jonathan) and son Randy Owen Bracey; step-daughter April Pascual-Fuentes (Oscar); and step-son Chris Stallings (Gabby); sister, Jackie Lawler (Frank). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, with two additional bonus grandchildren. Mike also leaves behind two special people in his life, Ross Bracey and Allen Heather Heptinstall, along with a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
Services to honor Mike’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 11:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:30 a.m.
Mike Bracey will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family and friends, and his zest for life. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
