LAFAYETTE – During Monday’s Chambers County Commission meeting, Sheriff Jeff Nelson recognized Macy Whorton for her ten years of dedicated service to the Sheriff’s Department.

“I know all of you are familiar with Macy because she’s the person you reach when you call the office. She could be considered the poster child for the Sheriff’s Department. Macy handles just about everything, which is why we’ve made her the Chief Clerk for the Sheriff’s Office—even though she’s too humble to accept that title. She simply says she’s here to do her job, and she does it better than anyone else. She does an exceptional job and helps keep me in line,” said Sheriff Nelson.

Following his remarks, Sheriff Nelson presented Macy Whorton with a plaque commemorating her decade of service to the Sheriff’s Department.

“Macy, this is in recognition of your 10 years of service to the citizens of Chambers County. Thank you so much for everything you do,” added Nelson.
