LANETT, Ala. — One of two suspects wanted in connection with a shooting that injured two people on May 24th has been arrested, while authorities are still searching for the second suspect.According to the Lanett Police Department, officers responded shortly before midnight on May 24th to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of 18th Avenue SW. Upon arrival, they found one gunshot victim at the scene and later located a second victim in the 1500 block of South 8th Avenue.
Officers provided immediate aid to both victims before they were transported to a local hospital for treatment.Following their investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Allen Matorion Foster and Jeremiah Maurice McGilberry, both from Lanett, on charges related to the shooting.
On June 2, 2026, McGilberry turned himself in at the Chambers County Detention Facility, where he was arrested and charged with attempted murder.Foster remains at large, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating him.
