Joseph Francis Bleskoski, age 83, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026. A resident of Lanett, Alabama,

Joe was born on November 8, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Albert and Frances (Mott) Bleskoski. ​Joe joined the Army at the age of 18 and was stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. While on weekend leave, he traveled to Valley, Alabama, with an Army buddy for a double date—a trip that led him to the love of his life, Brenda. They shared 59 beautiful years of marriage together.

​A man of deep faith, integrity, and hard work, Joe lived a full life defined by his kindness and a great sense of humor. He retired from Uniroyal/BF Goodrich and dedicated his retirement years to the family he cherished.

Whether he was fishing, tending to his garden, or working in his yard, Joe brought a sense of steadiness and warmth to everyone around him.

He was a loyal husband and a devoted father and grandfather who truly lived for his family. ​Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda McCormick Bleskoski; his sisters, Carol (Ed) McGuire and Mary Hennessey; and his brothers, Albert (Arlene), William (Debbie), Donald, and Thomas Bleskoski. ​

His legacy is lovingly carried on by his daughters, Becky (Steve) Mathis and Nancy (Tracy) Brown; and his grandson, Will Brown, whom he absolutely cherished. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen (Skip) Veri, Judy (Fran) Cooney, and Susan (Bill) Judge; his brothers, Jack (Rose), Bobby, Jimmy (Carol), and Raymond Bleskoski; his sister-in-law, Melba Rodgers; and 37 nieces and nephews.

​Service Information: ​Visitation: Friday, April 24, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL. ​

Funeral Mass: Saturday, April 25, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lanett, AL. ​

Interment: To follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett, AL.
