Hugh Dewayne Nix was born on July 30, 1959, in Bamberg, South Carolina. He passed away on June 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Mary Norris; his loving wife, Carmon Nix; daughter, Monica Dyer (Justin); granddaughter, Hailey McManus (Conner); grandson, Jason McManus; sister, Kathy Baker (Jay); brothers, Bobby Nix, Mark Nix, Keith Stender, and Robert Nix; two very special friends, Donald Whittley and Junior McGuire (Amy); very special niece, Nikki Chapman (Jerry); and many other loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
