Goodwyn Gravitt, age 96, of Lanett, Alabama, passed away, at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
He was born on December 9, 1929, to the late Garland and Harriet Gravitt in Carrollton, Georgia,
Mr. Gravitt was a member of the Lanett First Baptist, where he loved to be every Sunday.
He loved his church family very much. Along with his family, friends, and church family, he loved Alabama football.
Mr. Gravitt is preceded in death by, his wife, Mary Gravitt, sons-in-law, James Langford and Hal Chase, granddaughter, Holli Langford, great-granddaughter, Kate Langford.
Survivors include, his children, Judy Langford, Janice Chase, Joy Gravitt, and Mike Gravitt (Becky), sister, Sybil Jackson, brother, George Gravitt, grandchildren, Clay Langford, Libbi Holden (Pete), Kristin Edwards (Zac), and Megan Gravitt.
A funeral service will be held, Wednesday at 2:30 P.M., July 15, 2026, from the chapel of Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home, Valley, Alabama. Pastor Jake Hayley officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:30 P.M. (EST) until 2:30 P.M. (EST).
Interment will follow immediately after the service at Hillcrest Garden.
