Fatal Shooting Claims Life of Beloved Lanett Man: Police Investigating

To put it straight, Lanett needs prayers, and not just Lanett, but all of Chambers County is desperately in need, as senseless gunfire has taken the life of a beloved man in Lanett.  Lanett police released a press release on the tragic incident that occurred Tuesday Night.

“On 05/12/2026 at approximately 9:21 PM, the Lanett Police Department and EMS were dispatched to the 600 block of North 10th Ave in reference to gunshots and a subject lying in the roadway.

Upon the arrival of officers and EMS, medical aid was rendered to the victim, who ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The victim, Tommy Boyd Jr. of Lanett, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Chambers County Coroner’s Office. The body of Mr. Boyd has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy”, said Lanett Police in a press release.
