PHENIX CITY, AL — On May 8, Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) proudly
celebrated the achievements of its Class of 2026 during a joyful commencement ceremony held
at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.

This year, CVCC awarded 565 degrees and certificates to dedicated students from across the
region. Approximately 200 students participated in the ceremony, walking across the stage to
the applause of family, friends, and faculty.

A highlight of this year’s ceremony was the record number of dual enrollment students
recognized for earning college credentials while still in high school. A total of 58 high school
students participated, and six of these students earned associate degrees, while 52 completed
short-term certificates, an impressive accomplishment at such a young age”, said CVCC in a press release.

President Annette Funderburk reflected on the milestone, saying, “Commencement is one of
the most meaningful moments of the academic year because it represents perseverance,
growth, and achievement. We are incredibly proud of our graduates and the determination
they have shown in reaching this important milestone. Their success reflects the strength of our
students, families, faculty, and community.”

CVCC extends heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2026 and wishes each graduate
continued success in their academic and professional journeys.
