PHENIX CITY, Ala. — Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) is excited to welcome Alternative Baseball to campus for a game as part of its Playing for Community Integration Tour on Saturday, September 19, at the CVCC baseball field.
Alternative Baseball provides an authentic baseball experience for teens and adults with disabilities while creating opportunities for community involvement, inclusion, and connection through the game of baseball.
The September 19th game will feature two teams made up of Alternative Baseball athletes alongside local community members and “celebrity” players. Together, they will take the field to showcase the athletes’ talents, abilities, competitive spirit, and love of the game.
“CVCC is proud to host an event that brings our community together while highlighting the incredible abilities of these athletes,” said Ashley Landi, CVCC Athletic Director. “We invite everyone to come out, fill the stands, cheer on the players, and be part of what promises to be a memorable day at the ballpark.”
The event is FREE and open to the public. Play begins at noon, and the game is expected to last approximately two hours.
