Carol Anita Brown of Augusta, GA, peacefully passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 70.
Carol lived a life of adventure, kindness, and a deep love of family. She had a passion for gardening, cruising, beaches, and her pets. Above all else, her greatest joy was preparing and giving copious amounts of food and spending time with her grandkids. She especially loved shopping and getting her nails done with Taylor.
She worked a variety of careers that included teaching pre-k at Lakeview Baptist Church, Tiger Club Accounts and the Bursar’s Office at Auburn University, and volunteering at her local food banks. Her favorite (and probably busiest job) was having and raising her children, which included a set of triplets. She was a deeply devoted mother and Nana who always had an open door, a warm oven, and an ear to listen. Her legacy will live on through laughter in kitchens, full bellies, dirt in fresh gardens, and the songs of the birds she fed so freely.
She is survived by her partner in crime Charles Cooper, her sister Rita Rivenbark, her son Dan Allen Brown, Jr., her loving daughters Angela Sipos (Jon Sipos) and Ashley Mier (Peter Mier, Sr.), her grandchildren Ashton Masters (Josh Masters), Brittany Holmes (Seth Holmes), Joeseph Jackson, Taylor Jackson, Peter Mier, Jr., Zachary Stanley, and Angel Mitchell, and her great grandchildren Ryder Masters, Charlee Masters, Kayden Holmes, and Kenlea Holmes, and her two dogs Bella and Lady and a community of family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Hiram Lord and Lucille Nichols, her daughter Tiffany Brown and her son Austin Brown who I am sure met her at the gate with open arms.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held Monday, August 3, 2026, at Valley Point Funeral Home, Lanett, AL. Visitation will be at 1:00 EST with the funeral service following at 2:00 EST.
