BS Logistics America LLC and Yongsan Automotive USA are preparing for new phases of growth in Opelika, with both companies advancing projects that will support the region’s expanding automotive manufacturing sector.

The Opelika City Council approved tax abatements for both projects on July 7. The abatements support continued investment, job creation, and long-term industrial growth in Opelika.
BS Logistics America plans to expand its operations in Opelika by establishing plastic injection molding manufacturing operations, marking an important transition for the company from logistics and assembly support into manufacturing. The expansion is a capital investment of over $1.2 million and brings 20 new jobs to Opelika.

“BS Logistics America is excited to expand our operations in Opelika and take the next step in our company’s growth by establishing plastic injection molding manufacturing operations,” said Kevin Oh, President of BS Logistics America LLC.

“As a company that has supported the automotive industry through logistics and assembly services, this investment represents an important transition into manufacturing. Opelika’s strategic location and supportive business environment made it the ideal location for this expansion. We look forward to creating new jobs, investing in the community, and becoming a long-term manufacturing partner in Opelika.”

Yongsan Automotive USA is also investing in new equipment at its Opelika facility to prepare for a new automotive program. The company plans to invest an additional $4.4 million to establish an IMG, or In Mold Grain, process, expanding its capabilities beyond its existing high-end wrapping process. The project is expected to create 68 new jobs and complete Yongsan’s full lineup of crash pad panel manufacturing technologies.

President Michael Park, Yongsan Automotive USA, said, “Since launching our Opelika automotive parts plant in 2018, Yongsan has specialized in supplying interior trim components for the Sonata, Santa Fe, and Genesis models. Through this latest investment, the company plans to begin supplying parts for new HMMA and HMGMA programs starting in December 2026. We are excited to expanded our operations here in Opelika.”

Yongsan, a Tier 1 supplier for Hyundai and Kia, operates manufacturing facilities in Korea, China, India, and the United States. The company is a comprehensive parts supplier specializing in interior, exterior, and electrical components. Since entering the U.S. market in 2018 through Hyundai Mobis, Yongsan has continued to supply interior components to Hyundai and Kia while actively pursuing opportunities with additional automakers, including Rivian, General Motors, and Volkswagen.
