September 2, 1934 ~ May 5, 2026 (age 91)

Bertha Fox, lovingly known as Bertha, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Auburn, Alabama, at the age of 91. She was born on September 2, 1934, in Richland, South Carolina, and lived a life marked by love, kindness, and devotion to her family and faith.

Bertha was a woman whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren, and extended family, and she found great joy in spending time with them. Her love was steady and unconditional, and she was happiest when surrounded by the people she cherished most. Those who knew Bertha will remember her as a loving and kind woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to her family.

She loved attending church and found strength and peace in her faith. Her church life was an important part of who she was, and she carried her beliefs with grace throughout her life. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and also loved to attend Remnant of Hope Church. Bertha also enjoyed the simple pleasures that made her smile, especially spending time with her kids and grandkids and enjoying her favorite ice creams. These small joys reflected the sweetness of her personality and the appreciation she had for life’s blessings.

Bertha is survived by her daughters, Doris (Jimmy) Osail, Nora (Tommy) Claytor, and Brenda (Tony) Lee; her son, William Fox and David Fox; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the generations she helped nurture.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonzie Wilson and Essie Wilson; her brothers, Vinsent Wilson, Paul Wilson, and Joe Wilson; her sisters, Francis O’Kelly and Elma Dryden; and her son, Joey Fox. Though she was separated from many loved ones in death, she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

Bertha’s life was a beautiful example of devotion, humility, and care for others. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her kind nature, and the many ways she blessed her family and friends. Her memory will remain a treasured part of the lives she touched, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
