Mrs. Mattie Peterson Lewis, 73 of Columbus, GA passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM EST at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in LaFayette, AL.
Mrs. Lewis will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, 2:00 PM EST at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church in Lanett, AL, Rev. Justin M. Freeman, Pastor; Officiating | Bishop Cortez Peterson, Eulogist.
Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Lanett, AL.
Mrs. Lewis leaves cherished memories with her children, Cortez James Peterson and Tsuyoko Miller (Carlton); her siblings, Gregory Peterson (Linda), Corine Simmons (Lee), and Madie Huguley (Stephen); her grandchildren: Oshay Peterson, Rosalyn Peterson, Osoni Peterson, Terence Abercrombie, Cortez “CJ” Peterson, Jr., Alexia Peterson, Davion Peterson, Dejanae Peterson, De’Asia Peterson, Chris “CJ” Deon, Jr., EllynMarie Miller and Olivia Miller; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.
