Deborah Annette Stewart 72 Passed away in Valley, Al on 10/20/2026.
She was born 12/16/1953, Sumter, South Carolina to the late Betty and Roy Stewart SR.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by brothers Roy Jr, Steven, and sister Deanna.
Survivors include her fiancée, James Smith. Brother Ralph Stewart, sisters Tiffany Chambers and Angelica Royal. Her nieces Makalee Chambers, Celina Royal, Jamie Iwaniak and nephews Malachi Lyles, Joshua Royal, Jason Stewart, Stephen Stewart, Brian Stewarr and Roy Stewart III with a lot of cousins and other family members as well.
She answered to many names – MiMi, Aunt Deb, Deb and one of her favorite things to say when she was being hardheaded was don’t fuss at me. she was always there to listen to any of those calling on her for advice, prayers or just a casual conversation. She was many things to many people but above all she was a caregiver. She cared for those she loved, specially the many cats, she began to care for. She cared for Tiffany and Nikki; from the time they were babies until they were teenagers. Some of their fondest memories centered around summers spent at her mom’s house, picking vegetables from her garden, climbing trees in her yard, baking biscuits in her kitchen and just spending time with her family. Later on she enjoyed her mornings with her brother Ralph and her afternoons with her Fiancée James and the deers and the cats. She loved Alabama football and spent her Saturdays watching the games with the people she loved. She loved walking on the beach and eating some good seafood. Whether the occasion was somber or celebratory, her friends, family and church knew they could count on her. Her generosity was also displayed in her willingness to share her time. Whether it was a phone conversation or a visit on her front porch, she was always happy to spend time talking with others. She loved freely and was well loved by friends and family alike. Although we will miss her terribly, we are so thankful for the many years she was a vital part of our lives.
Memorial services will be held Friday 10/23/26 @ 11:00 AM (EST) at Lanett Congressional Christian Church in Lanett, Alabama.
