AUBURN-OPELIKA, Ala. — Originally scheduled for Oct. 9, On the Tracks has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 6, due to inclement weather. Hosted by Opelika Main Street, the annual wine trail will return to downtown Opelika for an evening of wine, live music, shopping and dining.
The event will proceed as planned with 19 participating businesses, each offering a selection of wines to sample as guests make their way through downtown. The previously announced post-event concert at the Bottling Plant Event Center will no longer take place. All tickets purchased for the original date will be honored Nov. 6.
Ticket holders will receive a souvenir wine glass and event map at check-in, where IDs will be verified. This year’s wine selections are curated by Santé Wine Shop and will include crisp whites, bold reds and sparkling varieties. Participating businesses will also offer light bites, special deals and opportunities to shop throughout the evening.
“On the Tracks is one of those events that really captures what makes Downtown Opelika special. It gives people an opportunity to get out, walk downtown, discover local businesses and spend time with friends and neighbors,” said Kelsey Sullivan, executive director of Opelika Main Street. “We love seeing our downtown businesses come alive during this event, and we’re also grateful that the proceeds help support Opelika Main Street and the work we do year-round to strengthen and promote our downtown. It’s a tradition we’re proud to continue and excited to share with our community.”
New this year, Opelika Main Street has partnered with East Alabama Arts to showcase artwork created during Paint the Town earlier this year. The event invited artists to select locations throughout downtown Opelika and create pieces inspired by their surroundings. On the Tracks guests will be able to view the resulting artwork throughout the event space.
While a ticket is required to participate in the wine tasting, On the Tracks is open to anyone who wants to experience the evening in downtown Opelika. Visitors can explore local shops, dine at downtown restaurants and enjoy the event atmosphere without participating in the wine trail.
Proceeds from On the Tracks support Opelika Main Street, a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing and strengthening downtown Opelika and supporting its local businesses.
