LAFAYETTE – During Monday’s Chambers County Commission meeting, commissioners recognized Diane Perry ahead of the upcoming 25th Chambers County Day of Prayer. Commissioner Doug Jones read a special proclamation on behalf of the Chambers County Commission.
As I often say, if we don’t pray for our leaders, nobody else will. And if we don’t pray for Chambers County, nobody else will either. We love Chambers County, our leaders, and our community. Everyone will have their differences, and not everyone will agree on everything. However, coming together in unity, loving each other, and working collaboratively is what truly matters.
Chambers County has really blossomed, and it will continue to do so. We appreciate all of you and want to remind you that we give away school supplies on that day. I had initially thought we wouldn’t be at the courthouse, but we’ll be down the street instead.
I want to thank you all for the support over the last 25 years. That’s a significant amount of time, and we must keep our officials in our prayers. They need encouragement and support. It’s important for them to know that we understand the challenges they face, even if they sometimes feel misunderstood themselves. They carry many responsibilities and face tough decisions, which won’t always please everyone, but their work is for the betterment of Chambers County.
Once again, thank you all for 25 wonderful years.
The 25th Chambers County Day of Prayer will be held on Friday from 6:00 PM CST to 7:00 PM CST at the eastside of the courthouse in LaFayette.
