Cynthia “Cindy” Rose Teague Hodge passed away peacefully at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, on June 20, 2026.
She was born at the Norfolk Navy Shipyard military base in Portsmouth, Virginia, on April 15, 1953.
Cindy was defined by her remarkable independence and strength. She lived a life grounded in faith, family, and hard work. Although she was confined to a wheelchair for almost 30 years, it never dictated her abilities. She is survived by her husband of 56 years and 9 months, Krallin Hodge, and her four children: Stephen (Cathy) Hodge, Kenneth (Kelli) Hodge, Jon (Alaine) Hodge, and Cathy (Barry) Cupp. She is also survived by her siblings, Tim (Beverly) Teague, Phil (Kathy) Teague, and Lisa (Jimbo) Richardson, as well as her seven grandchildren: Nicholaus Hodge, Hannah Hodge, Lauren (Patrick) Pigg, Jonathan Hodge, Zachary Cupp, Jackson Cupp, and MacKenzie Cupp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, TJ and Annie Ruth (Thomas) Teague.
Cindy spent time each day reading the Bible, watching her soap operas and game shows, and checking in on family and friends. She loved her horses, and while that love may have put her in a wheelchair; it was also that same love that gave her the therapy she needed to regain her independence.
Cindy worked for Rick Sims at Sims Lawn and Farm Supply for ten years. She and her husband also co-owned and managed LaFayette Foods grocery for seven years. In addition, Cindy served her community by driving a bus for the Chambers County School District for 23.5 years.
