On Thursday, the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a Meet the Candidates event from the Valley Community Center ahead of the Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 Primary .
East Alabama News spoke with Greater Valley Area Chamber Executive Director Carrie Wood.
“I think it was great for the candidates.It gives them the leg up to be able to come to one spot to engage with voters. It also gives them the opportunity to network with each other,which I think is important to them because they don’t always get to do that. Overaal. I think it was a good event”, said Wood.
