William Herbert Gore, Jr, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 55. William was born on September 6, 1970, and his life was one marked by a deep love for his family, friends, and the simple joys of life.
William was the beloved brother of Patricia Mann, who, along with her husband David, cherished him deeply. Patricia’s children, Shyanne and David Mann, fondly remember their uncle’s warmth and ever-present smile. William was also a dedicated stepfather to Kayla Worley, with whom he shared many treasured moments. His grandchildren, Brynly and Serenity Rose, will remember their grandfather’s friendly and gentle nature. William’s legacy extends to his numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles, whose lives he touched in so many ways. Preceding him in death were his parents, William Herbert Gore, Sr. and Brenda Faye Jones Gore, and his brother, Christopher Gore, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.
William’s professional life included valuable contributions to the City of Lanett ESG Operations and G&G Mobile Homes, where his friendly demeanor and commitment to service were well known. His colleagues remember William as a man who never met a stranger, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a kind word.
Beyond work, William’s interests were a true reflection of his adventurous and sociable nature. He was a familiar face at the Lee County Flea Market, not just attending but actively participating and enhancing the community experience. His love for deep sea fishing spoke to his appreciation for life’s adventures and the serenity of the ocean.
Those who met William easily recall his friendliness and kindness, attributes that defined his character and left an imprint in the hearts of many. He had a talent for making every individual he encountered feel special and valued, an ability that inspired countless friendships and a community enriched by his presence.
William’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to live on through the memories of those who had the fortune to know him. His was a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering zest for the experiences life has to offer. As we bid farewell to William Herbert Gore, we celebrate a man who was truly one of a kind and who, even in moments of departure, reminds us to cherish every encounter and adventure life presents. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by his loving family and friends.
Funeral service for William will be held, 2:30 P.M. (EST), Saturday, January 3, 2026, in the chapel at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Pastor Derek Hubbard officiating.
Interment will follow immediately after the service in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, January 2, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. (EST) until 8:00 P.M. (EST) at the funeral home.
