August 29, 1954 ~ February 7, 2026 (age 71)

William ‘Bill’ Beck Jr. (71) passed away on February 7, 2026, at Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

Bill was preceded in death by his father (William Beck Sr.), mother (Nell Beck), and sister(Jennifer Champion). He is survived by his daughter, Tricia Waldrop (Johnny), his nephews: David Powell (Elizabeth),Jason Powell (Maggie), and niece, Christin Doyal (Stephen), as well as his grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and many great nieces and nephews.

Bill was born on August 29, 1954 in Valley, Alabama. Bill was a simple man, and a country boy through and through. He knew the value of hard work, the beauty of nature, and the importance of family. It didn’t take much to make him happy: hunting, fishing, or some hotdog casserole and fried cornbread would do the trick every time!

Anyone who knew him knows that Bill loved the outdoors and didn’t need an excuse to spend the day in the woods or on the lake. He was most at home under the open sky, the shade of a tree, or rocking on the crest of a gentle wave. He found his peace in the quiet solace of the woods, and his joy in the glow of an early morning sunrise.

Bill took pride in teaching his grandchildren and great nieces and nephews the same joy that he found in the great outdoors. He instilled a love of hunting, fishing, and good stewardship of God’s creation in the next generation through the time he invested in them. They thought they were just hunting or fishing, but they were really making memories and learning a sense of responsibility for the land.

Bill’s family will miss his warm hear`elt hugs, gentle gestures of his love, and his always having your back. His friends will miss the trips to the lake, mornings on the land, and the stories that came from those adventures. Those are the types of memories his family and friends will hold onto and cherish as they mourn a man who lived his life rooted in the country.

Bill’s family and friends will miss him this side of heaven, but they find peace in the memories they have, and in the promise of eternity through their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bill’s family is having a visitation open to family and friends at Johnson Brown Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama on Tuesday February 10, 2026, from 6 to 8 o’clock (EST). There will be no graveside service to follow.
