William (Bill) Ernest Morris, Jr., age 93, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away on February 2, 2026. Born on June 27, 1932, in Blountsville, Alabama, to William Ernest Morris, Sr. and Agnes Palmer Morris. After his service in the Air Force and Army during the Korean War, he returned home and attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University), where he graduated in 1957 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His Career encompassed positions at Republic Steel, Jones Sheet Metal, Diversified Products and Ampex. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Opelika.
Bill is survived by 3 children- Terri Schaub (Roy), David Morris (Barbara) and Susan Bolt (Rick), 5 grandchildren- Aubry Gray, Houston Bolt, Madison Bolt, Kristin Bolt and Ashley Crane (Mark), 4 great-grandchildren- Blaise Crowson, Tucker Crowson (Annarose) and Hayden Murray, Dylan Crane, 1 great-great-grandchildren- Roy Crowson and one brother Kenneth Morris (Harvey).
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Geraldine (Jerri) Kilpatrick Morris, his parents, 1 brother – Glenn Morris and 1 sister – Sylvia Morris Allen.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM CST at First Baptist Church with burial at Garden Hills Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
