The Chambers County School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Wendy Robinson as the new Rams principal at Valley High School. Mrs. Robinson was officially approved as the new VHS principal by the Chambers County Board of Education on Wednesday, January 15th.

Mrs. Robinson officially transitioned from her role as Assistant Principal at Valley HS to begin serving as the school’s principal on Thursday, January 16th. She succeeds former VHS Principal, Mr. Troy Kelley who resigned his position effectively on December 31, 2024. Mrs. Robinson had been serving as the most tenured Assistant Principal at Valley High School since June of 2021 when she first joined the Rams staff.

Mrs. Robinson is excited about this new challenge to being named as the next principal at Valley High School. She is committed to building a culture of trust and teamwork with the staff to focus on student achievement. She plans to make a difference with all students and staff as a supportive principal while aspiring to build stronger relationships in the community. Her vision for developing greater academic success for all of the students at VHS focuses on four areas including academics, improving the graduation rate, reducing absenteeism, and ensuring students are college & career ready when they graduate.

Chambers County Superintendent, Dr. Sharon Weldon was pleased to recommend Mrs. Wendy Robinson as the new principal at Valley High School. Dr. Weldon noted that Mrs. Robinson is committed to making a difference and demonstrated her focus on student achievement during the interview process. Dr. Weldon also shared that Mrs. Robinson was a unanimous selection for the recommendation by the five team members on the interview committee.

Today, marked the seventh school day on the job for Mrs. Robinson as the new principal at Valley High School. This marks her 19th year serving as a teacher and administrator in the Chambers County School District. She started at Huguely Elementary School as a pre-k teacher in 2006 prior to moving to VHS in 2021 to serve as Assistant Principal. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 2006 and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University in 2017.

Wendy and her husband, Mark, reside in Chambers County. The Robinsons have six children with three of them having already graduated from Valley High School. Katy is a 2012 graduate, William is a 2018 graduate, and Benji is a 2023 graduate. The Robinsons have three students still enrolled in the CCSD Josh is a current senior at Valley High School, James is in the seventh grade at W.F. Burns and Mary Margaret is in the 4th grade at Huguley Elementary School. Mrs. Robinson is a lifelong educator and a native of Chambers County whose husband, Mark is also a teacher for the district.

She is anxious to get to work to make a difference at Valley High School as she believes she is completely invested in the challenge. Mrs. Robinson met with her staff for the first time on Thursday, January 16th to emphasize the need for everyone on the team to work together to make a difference with our students. Mrs. Robinson is excited to have this new opportunity to serve as principal for Valley High School serving the students and staff of Chambers County.
