Wayne Eugene Rushing Obituary

September 10, 1954 ~ May 5, 2025 (age 70)

Wayne Eugene Rushing, affectionately known as Wayne, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Lanett, AL. Born on September 10, 1954, in Americus, GA, he was a beacon of kindness and love throughout his life.

A devoted husband, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Neva Dawn Simmons Rushing, and his esteemed father-in-law, RV Simmons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Martha Rushing, and his dear sister, Becky Grantham.

Wayne was a member of the Valley Biker’s Association and contributing founder to support Toy’s for Tots. Fiercely proud of his Native American heritage, he was active in cultural festivals. His joy was riding Harley motorcycles across the country, feeling the freedom of the open road.

Those who knew Wayne will remember him as a loving, kind, and handy individual, always ready to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Graveside service for Wayne will be held on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 2:30 PM (EDT) at Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama. Brother Jamie Cotney will officiate.
