January 21, 1951 ~ March 20, 2025 (age 74)

Susan Mask Bishop, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on March 20, 2025, in Opelika, AL. Born on January 21, 1951, in Langdale, AL, Susan spent her life enriching those around her with her kindness.

A cherished wife to Richard Bishop, an adored mother to Joseph Bishop, and a beloved sister to Sherri (Ralph) Stafford, and brother-in-law, Joe Bishop. Susan was the heart of her family. She rejoiced in the laughter and adventures shared with her grandchildren, Izabella Staten-Bishop and Ava Roza Staten-Bishop. Her warm presence will also be dearly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews.

Susan’s passion for life was reflected in her love for Panama City Beach, RV camping trips, cheering at Auburn football games, and caring for her treasured pets. She found joy in playing games on social media, connecting with friends old and new.

Susan’s legacy is carried forward by the lives she touched with her loving, kind, and generous spirit. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories shared by those who loved her. She is predeceased by her parents, Joe and Lorene Mask, and her son, Jason Bishop. Susan’s radiant smile and unwavering love will forever be remembered.

Funeral services for Susan will be held on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at 2:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery in Valley, Alabama. Brother Kevin Pigg will officiate. Susan’s family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 1:00 PM (EDT) until the service hour.
