August 3, 1952 ~ November 3, 2025 (age 73)

Shelia Gale Power, an embodiment of gentleness and love, peacefully passed away in LaGrange, Georgia, on the 3rd of November, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born on August 3, 1952, in West Point, Georgia, her thoughtful presence and loving nature were hallmarks of her character, leaving impressions on all who knew her. With the grace and care that only Shelia could exude, she navigated life alongside her devoted husband, David Power. Together they created a household of warmth and laughter. Her sons, Phillip Tad “Tadpole” Power and David Ray Lamar “DaDa” Power, were the apple of her eye, and she instilled in them the values of kindness and compassion that she embodied. Shelia’s joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Brandon Power, Amber Smith, Hunter Power, and Savannah Power, whom she adored and cherished. Shelia will be remembered fondly by her caring brother, Kenneth Butler, and his wife Glenda.

She joins in peace her late parents, Lamar Preston Butler and Eunice Spraggins Butler, and her brothers Frankie Butler, Preston Butler, and Phillip Butler, who preceded her in death.

After graduating high school, Shelia embraced life’s simple pleasures. She could often be found watching hummingbirds and butterflies dance and where the vibrant red of cardinals would capture her fascination time and again. These moments of quiet reflection were among her most treasured. As the sun sets on Shelia Gale Power’s life, her legacy endures in the love she has left in our hearts. We will forever carry with us her memory and the countless ways she touched our lives with her gentle grace.

Shelia’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet we take comfort in the knowledge that her light will forever glow in those she loved. Her spirit, now free as the hummingbirds she so adored, will continue to inspire us for generations to come.

A Memorial Service will be held for Shelia, 2:30 P.M. (EST) Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home located in Valley, Alabama, with Brother Carl Benedict officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. (EST) at the funeral home.
