For his bravery and heroic acts in combat, Jasper was awarded two Bronze Star Medals with Valor. His service culminated with an honorable retirement as Sergeant Major (SGM), a rank that speaks volumes about his leadership and integrity.

Jasper was the loving patriarch to a vibrant family that included his daughter, Regina Jackson; stepchildren Dawn Schaefer, Joy Gayler, and Lee Vinson; daughter-in-law Shirley Ussery; and an assembly of grandchildren that brought immense joy to his life: Bryan, Steve Jackson, Chris Jackson, Kimberly Loveless, Thomas Ussery, TJ Ussery, and Maegan (married to Daniel). The sparkle of his legacy continued into the next generations with his great-grandchildren, Triston, Kaleb, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, and Cheynne, along with several great-great-grandchildren who will carry forth his memory and spirit.
