Chambers Academy kicked off the 2024 Football season on the road in Starkville, Mississippi against Starkville Academy as both teams went back and forth ending with the home team coming out on top 35-31.

The Rebels came out with a ground-and-pound identity and stayed committed to that racking up 437 yards on the ground.

Rebel Luke Tarver led Chambers Academy with 159 yards on 20 carries with 2 touchdowns and Jacob Norgard rushed for 150 yards on 18 carries. Eli Whorton, TJ Daniel, and Landon Hand had big games as well.

“This was a tough game to lose. Anytime you rush for over 400 yards you expect to win every time. Unfortunately, we turned the ball over, had some untimely penalties, and gave up two big plays on defense.

I was proud of how hard the kids played on a very long road trip. It was a learning experience for our team. We will regroup, , get better and figure out what we do best.  I really like our team and am excited about how much improvement we can make going forward”, said Chambers Academy Head Football Coach Jason Allen.

The Rebels will try and get back on track on the road against Fort Dale Academy in Greenville, AL.
