The much-anticipated reopening of Floral Park is set for May 24, 2025 at 10 a.m., marking the completion of an extensive renovation project designed to enhance recreational opportunities for the entire community. With state-of-the-art athletic facilities, an inclusive playground and splash park, and expanded parking, the revitalized park is poised to become a premier destination for families, athletes, and visitors.
State-of-the-Art Athletic Facilities
The centerpiece of the renovation is the installation of new turf athletic fields, including a regulation-sized multipurpose field and additional fields for training and games. Perfect for hosting games and practices, these fields are complemented by a brand-new press box equipped with a concession stand and restroom facilities, ensuring a top-notch experience for players and spectators
All-Inclusive Playground and Splash Park
On the upper end of the park, families will find a newly designed all-inclusive playground that offers children of all ages and abilities a welcoming place to play. The park will include five pods with playground equipment tailored to different age groups. There are 3 additional pods that are dedicated to swinging equipment. The playground pods encircle a refreshing splash park, perfect for beating the heat.
Four new pavilions installed around the perimeter of the playground will provide gathering spaces for park visitors. Additional restroom facilities have been added to enhance the convenience for park visitors.
Improved Parking and Accessibility
To accommodate the anticipated increase in visitors, Floral Park has expanded its parking facilities. A new parking lot with 116 spaces is being added at the Shamrock Street entrance, while the existing lot is being expanded to include 134 spots. With a total of 250 parking spaces available, visitors will have plenty of options for easy access to the park.

A Space for Everyone
Floral Park’s renovation reflects the City’s commitment to providing modern, accessible, and enjoyable spaces for recreation and leisure. From competitive games on the fields to hours of inclusive play on the playground, Floral Park is set to become a vibrant hub for the community.
“We are thrilled to reopen Floral Park and provide the community with a space where people of all ages can come together,” said Director of Parks and Recreation Sam Bailey. “This renovation is a testament to our commitment to creating active and inclusive environments for all of our residents.”
The grand reopening celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with free play to follow. Community members are encouraged to join in the ceremony and experience all the new features Floral Park has to offer.
