On March 26th 2025, at approximately 9:30 AM, Lee county Sheriff’s Deputies were notified by a concerned citizen that there were two infants left alone in car seats in the parking lot of the Justice Center located at 2311 Gateway Drive in Opelika.

Deputies walked to the vehicle and located the infants unattended in an unlocked running vehicle. The mother was located inside of the Justice Center and was confronted about the incident. She immediately became agitated and started arguing with Deputies, saying that it wasn’t a big deal.

The mother, Sh’nyia A’Zebria Glaze (24) from Opelika was arrested on the spot for outstanding warrants through Lee County and was additionally charged with 2 counts each of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Wreckless Endangerment.

Lee County Deputies on the scene estimated that the children were left in the vehicle alone for approximately 10 minutes. A family member was contacted to pick up the children.

As by protocol, the Alabama Department of Human Resources was in reference to the welfare of the children.

Glaze has since been released from the Lee County Jail on a $5000.00 bond.
