February 2, 1980 ~ November 7, 2024 (age 44)

Michael Wayne Fulghum, known affectionately to all as Michael, passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 44, in Valley, Alabama. Born on February 2, 1980, in Orlando, Florida, Michael was a man whose life was defined by the love he had for his family, the wisdom he shared with those around him, and the kindness that touched the hearts of everyone he met.

Michael is survived by a loving family that includes his son, Dayton (Christen) Fulghum, his sister, Rhonda (Kelcey) Jordan, his brother, Jason (Ariel) Fulghum, his fiancée, Destiny Rivera, and his cherished grandchildren, Paxton and Porter Fulghum. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his gentle guidance and warm presence. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Fulghum and Barbara Ann Wilkerson, who instilled in him the values of love and family that he carried throughout his life.

A man of simple pleasures, Michael found joy in the tranquility of fishing, a pastime that allowed him to reflect on life’s blessings and the beauty of nature. His love for antiques spoke to his appreciation for history and the stories that each piece held. Michael’s home was a testament to his passion, filled with treasures that each had their own special place in his heart.

Above all, Michael cherished his role as a grandfather. Paxton and Porter were the lights of his life, and he embraced every moment spent with them. His wisdom and love will continue to guide them as they grow, and his legacy will live on through their memories and the stories they will tell.

Michael was a beloved loyal friend, whose unwavering support and kind-hearted nature made him a pillar in his community. His friends knew they could always count on him for a listening ear and wise counsel, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we say goodbye to Michael, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the wisdom that he generously shared. His kind and loving spirit will forever be remembered, and his memory will continue to inspire us all. Michael Wayne Fulghum will be dearly missed, but the impact he made on the lives of those he touched will never be forgotten.

Funeral service for Michael will be held, Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. (EST) in the chapel of Johnson Brown – Service Funeral Home, 3700 20th Avenue, Valley, Alabama, 36854. Interment will follow, immediately after the service, at Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley. Visitation will be held Monday, November 11th, 2024, from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. (EST)
