July 1, 1925 ~ January 24, 2026 (age 100)

Mary Frances Blitch, known affectionately to friends and family as Frances, departed this life on January 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones in Valley, AL. Born on July 1, 1925, in Manchester, GA, Frances was a beacon of loving kindness throughout her 100 years of life.

Frances was the cherished matriarch of a family that adored her. She is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, Margaret (Joel) Street, Martha (Larry) Quinton, Connie Vinson, Bonnie (Dale) Wood, and Melanie (Jimmy) Brown, who were all blessed with her incredible spirit of generosity and love. Frances’s wisdom and warmth will live on through her beloved brother, Jack Teague, her treasured grandchildren, Crystal (Jay) Pilgrim, Hilary (Matt) McKinney, Randall (Anna) Wood, Keith (Audrey) Wood, and Mitchell (Anna) Brown, as well as her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

Frances now joins in peace her late husband, Swint Blitch, who preceded her in death, along with her parents, Clarence and Eula Teague, her brothers Wallace, Dan, and Ray Teague, and her grandchild Amy Street. Together, they rest, leaving a legacy of familial devotion that will be cherished for generations.

An avid reader, Frances found solace and adventure in the pages of books, and she possessed an uncanny talent for solving the most challenging word search puzzles. A fabulous cook, her kitchen was the heart of the home where aromas of her lovingly prepared meals created an everlasting bond of family memories. Her caring nature extended beyond her illustrious skills in the kitchen; her laughter, kindness, and willingness to listen made her an embodiment of love in action.

To know Frances was to know gratitude in its purest form, for she was a living example of being grateful for life’s simplest pleasures. Her generous spirit knew no bounds; she gave not just from her resources, but from her soul—sharing joy, comfort, and kindness in equal measure. Loving could well have been her middle name, for she was the embodiment of love itself—a caring touch, a shoulder to rest upon, and a treasure trove of endless support and understanding.

As we bid farewell to Frances, we remember a life extraordinarily lived and a heart bravely loved. She modeled for us a life devoted to family, painted with the brushstrokes of joy and gratitude. Frances’s spirit, a guiding light of gentleness and strength, will be profoundly missed but celebrated in the living legacies she leaves behind.
