Lanett Police Investigating Infant’s Death

On January 25th, 2025 at approximately 1:55 PM the Chambers County 911 Center received a 911 call in reference to a four-month-old infant having a seizure at a residence in the Old Jackson Heights Housing Project in Lanett, AL. The East Alabama Fire Department was contacted for mutual aid and transported the black male infant to East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC). The child’s condition was assessed by the medical staff at EAMC and then flown to the Children’s of Alabama Hospital (COA)l in Birmingham. Alabama.

On January 29th 2025 at approximately 3:06 PM the infant was declared deceased at COA. The body of the infant has been transported the Alabama Department of Forensic Science Medical Lab in Montgomery, Alabama for autopsy.

The circumstances of the child’s death are under investigation by the Lanett Police Department.
